Risk factors of intracerebral hemorrhage- a cross sectional study

BACKGROUND:
 Stroke is the most common cause of disability and a leading mortality worldwide. Though incidence falling in West but probably rising Asia. The burden stroke risk factors Pakistan enormous. Data on prevalence from scarce; however, there are several reported case series literature highlighting significant differences terms epidemiology, subtypes/patterns. METHODS: This descriptive cross sectional study was conducted August 2019 to February 2020, 109 patients medical units DHQ Teaching Hospital Abbottabad. Diagnosis cerebrovascular accidents made focal neurological deficit lasting more than 24 hours. CT scan brain done all detect intra cerebral bleed. Detailed history records were carefully scrutinized intracerebral bleed it like uncontrolled hypertension. Fasting blood glucose, fasting serum cholesterol triglycerides diabetes hyperlipidemia. collected structured proforma analysed using SPSS 20. RESULTS: Majority 39.81%(n=41) >70 years age, 71 (68.93%) male 32 (31.07%) female, frequency among presenting with acute recorded 8.74%(n=9), them 66.67%(n=6) had hypertension, 44.44%(n=4) 33.33%(n=3) hyperlipidemia.
 CONCLUSIONS: Frequency higher accidents, hypertension factor for this complication.
